Rainbow Unit- Green Class Week 9

Date: 14th Nov 2025 @ 2:45pm

This week in Green Class we have fully introduced our ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ sensory story. All of the children have shown such interest and engagement in the story and sensory experiences. The sensory aspects include things like splashing in water, pressing their fingers in slime, touching ice and feeling the teddy bear, all lead by an adult. The children will learn and associate different sensory experiences with parts of the book. All of the children have enjoyed this and shown so much anticipation for the next part of the story. This week we have also been painting which they enjoying more and more every time. We have been doing dough disco this week too which the children always love.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!

Date: 17th Oct 2025 @ 3:41pm

This week in Green class, we have been continuing with our shape theme and colour sorting activities. All of the children are becoming much more confident with this and are showing increased amount of engagement with these activities. We have slowly been introducing new colours and shapes for the children to recognise and some of them are beginning to be able to do this.

This week, we have also done some mark making using water colours. Lots of the children enjoyed exploring the paint using the paint brush or their fingers. Some children needed a little bit more reassurance and allowed an adult to use hand over hand support to complete this 😊

We hope you have a lovely weekend!

Rainbow Unit- Green Class Week 5

Date: 10th Oct 2025 @ 2:46pm

We are so proud of all the children in Green class. This week, we have been continuing to practice our pencil control and we have seen all children take part in this with less adult support than in previous weeks.

We have also introduced some fine motor activities, including a coloured peg board. It has been great to see some of the children copying the picture cards and others creating their own patterns.

We have been practicing our turn taking whilst completing our activities this week and some of the children are showing patience and fleeting eye contact whilst waiting for their turn which is great to see.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!

This week has been super busy for the children in Green class. This week we have been sorting objects by colour and shape. The children are becoming much more confident in this. The children have also been taking part in sensory song. This is where we listen to a song and a sensory experience such as bubbles or blowing a balloon up are led by an adult.
