Equality and Diversity
At St Basil's we promote the Gospel values of love and forgiveness. We pride ourselves in ensuring everyone is treated equally and with respect. We welcome and value everyone in our school, celebrating and valuing our differences, our uniqueness and that we are all equally loved by God.
We aim to ensure that all of our pupils are happy and excited about living and learning in a community full of difference and diversity.
Each year group looks at equality through a variety different texts. Some of which include:
No outsiders in our school - Andrew Moffat
The Odd Egg - Emily Gravett
Something Else - Kathryn Cave
Dreams of Freedom - Amnesty International
The Equality Act 2010 states that it is agaonst the law to discriminate against anyone because of: age, disbility, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.
