The children in Year 1 really enjoyed playing Picnic on Pluto on Phonics Play! They had to read a word and work out if it was a real word or a silly word. The alien called Bob ate the real words and the alien called Obb ate the silly words. The really made us giggle when Bob would burp after eating! You can play this game too on https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk and it will really support the children with their phonics development!

This week in the Blue Room, Year 1 have been working extremely hard! We have been using play dough to improve our fine motor skills by making things that the animals on our play dough mats were missing. We have been practising our long legged giraffe letters using rainbow writing on huge pieces of paper! We have been continuing to practise our number bonds to five and saying one less than a number to 10. We loved creating alien names for the new aliens in the room and using our phonics to sound it out - some of the names really made us laugh!

Jubilee Year launch - Pilgrims of Hope - January 24th 2025
Date: 26th Jan 2025 @ 11:42am
Our school community came together for an amazing launch for the very special Jubilee Year.
A Jubilee is celebrated within the Catholic church every 25 years. This year the theme will be 'Pilgrims of Hope'.
We are called together to experience joy and strength as we embarkon a journey to be 'agents of change,' working together for justice, love and peace, locally and globally.
After learning about the importance and theme of the Jubilee, the children across school have Celebrated the Word and written their own pledges.
We gathered together to reflect and share pledges before displaying them all around the hall.
We are excited for more events to come during the Jubilee Year and are filled with hope for the difference we can make in fulfilling our pledges!
