Lesson: Religious education

Class: EYFS (F2) Reception Year: 2026 - 2027

During their first half term at St Basil's, the children have loved learning during our RE lessons.

We have found out about the Bible as a very special book for Catholics and how to hold and treat this with respect.

We also learned how to make the sign of the cross and the words which are said as we do this. 

Then we heard part of the Creation story at the very beginning of the Bible and used some special props in our golden box to help us.

We also talked about how God felt about all that he had made, "indeed it was very good!"

We have had fun with lots of activities to help us remember how precious God's world is, also spending time outside looking at this.

We know that we have also been created by God and are very precious to Him.

The most important thing we have learned is that we all need to be responsible for taking care of the world and each other.

There are lots of ways we can help with this and we have all promised to try our very best!
