Personal Development
We give high priority to the Personal Development of all our pupils by:
- Fostering a sense of pride and recognition of their achievements so that they grow up to be happy, resilient, responsible, confident and independent
- Nurturing within all children the values, skills and understanding of how to build, maintain and repair healthy relationships
- Promoting lifestyle choices which will enable all children to grow up with both good physical and mental
health, positive self-image and the knowledge of how to stay safe - Encouraging children to be an active participant and contributors to our school and the wider community
In addition to Personal Development (PHSE) lessons and assemblies we enrich our wider curriculum through:
- Restorative Practice
- Philosophy for Children P4C
- Extra curricular activities including sports development clubs
- Partcipation in sports competitions and events
- Trips and visits
- Thematic events – these are in addition to the planned curriculum in RE, PHSE, PE and Computing
- Work with high quality outside agencies and providers
- Agencies and providers who provide individual pupil or family support
- Pupil leadership
- Pupil fundraising
- Assemblies

Restorative Practice
Restorative Approaches are embedded with our school Relationship and Behaviour Policy. It reflects the importance upon which we place relationships founded upon mutual trust, care and respect.
Building upon our shared values in weekly restorative circles we teach pupils the skills of:
- Active Listening
- Empathy
- Emotional Literacy
- Being non-judgemental
- Conflict Management
Philosophy for Children
Philosophy for Children (P4C) reflects the school’s ambition for pupils to be both confident and independent in their ability to express their views and opinions while valuing and respecting the views of others. P4C is taught across the curriculum and supports pupils in readiness for life in Modern Britain.
