Welcome to FSPD & FSAW!

Happy New Year and welcome back to school. We hope you have all enjoyed a lovely Christmas with your families. As we begin another busy term we would like to just remind you about some important routines and rules to help things run smoothly…

PE Kit

We will usually have PE on Tuesdays or Wednesdays this term but there are times when this may change so your child will need to have a PE kit that will stay in school until we send it home to be washed at the end of the half term It is important to return kits to school straight away at the start of the next half term. Please ensure all items of uniform and kit are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

Outdoor Play

We use our outdoor area every day and therefore your child will need to have a coat as we can never predict what the weather might be like! We ask that all children have a pair of wellington boots that can be left in school so they can enjoy exploring the outdoors and jumping in puddles! Please remember to label coats and wellies too!

Water Bottles

It is really important that all of the children bring a clean water bottle to school every day, with fresh water in it. To avoid mix ups please ensure that all bottles are clearly labelled with names.

A form must be completed (at the office) for children to be given prescribed medicine or inhalers during the school day. Please speak to your child’s teacher if your child needs medication or inhalers. It is essential that we are able to contact you if your child becomes ill during the school day so please ensure that we have your up to date contact details.

Toast money

Every morning your child will have the opportunity to have toast. Please send £1 in the named toast money bag provided at the start of each week.

Book Bags and Reading Books

Your child will need to bring their book bag to school every day. Please check your child’s bag each day to see if there are any letters or wonderful creations for you to see! It is really important that you share your child’s book with them as often as possible, preferably for 5 or 10 minutes each day. Please remember to sign and date their record book each time.

Every Thursday your child will bring home a learning challenge activity to be completed at home. Please return this on a Monday morning. If you have any questions we will be happy to discuss these with you.

Dates coming up:

Our next INSPIRE workshop for parents is on either Tuesday the 16 th January or Thursday the 18th January. Letters will be sent shortly about this.

Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to another successful term working with you.
