Welcome to FSAW and FSRA!

September 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to St Basil's!  It is a very exciting time for us all.  The Early Years Staff that will be working with the children this year are:  Miss Abbott, Mrs Westerside, Mrs Coleman and Miss Underwood.

You have already been given lots of information but we would like to draw your attention to several things that will help you and your chlld to feel settled in our school.

PE Kit

We will usually have PE on Monday but there are times when this may change so your child will need to have a PE kit that will stay in school until we send it home to be washed at the end of each half term.  It is important to return the kits to school straight away at the start of the next half term.  Please ensure all items of uniform and kit are clearly labelled with your child's name and that PE Kits are sent in a simple pump bag.

Outdoor Play

We use our outdoor area every day and therefore your child will need to have a coat as we can never predict what the weather might be like!  We ask that all children have a pair of wellington boots that can be left in school so they can enjoy exploring the outdoors and jumping in puddles!

Please remember to label coats and wellies too!

Water Bottles

It is really important that all of the children bring a clean water bottle to school every day, with fresh water in it.  To avoid mix ups please ensure that all bottles are clearly labelled with names.

A form must be completed (at the office) for children to be given prescribed medicine or inhalers during the school day.  Please speak to your child's teacher if your child needs medication or inhalers.  It is essential that we are able to contact you if your child becomes ill during the school day so please ensure that we have your up to date details.

Book Bags and Reading Books

Your child will need to bring their book bag to school every day.  Please check your child's bag each day to see if there are any letters or wonderful creations for you to see!  Your child will receive a book to share with you at home and a reading record book for you to sign up and comment in.

Every Thursday your child will bring home a learning challenge activity to be completed at home.  Please return this on a Monday morning .  If you have any questions please let us know and we will be happy to discuss these with you.

We look forward to a successful year and hope that your child will enjoy being in EYFS.   Many thanks for your support.
