Welcome to 4KW & 4SW!

We hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and wish you a very happy new year.

As we start our spring term, we would like to remind you of our routines and expectations to make a great start to the new year.

Homework     Maths                      English                     Learning Challenge/Science
Given out                                Monday Wednesday                     Friday
Handed in completed    Wednesday Friday

Spellings will also be given out every Monday to be learned for a test on Friday.

If homework is repeatedly not completed or forgotten, children will have to complete it in school time.

Children are expected to wear their P.E kit for all P.E lessons and should therefore be brought to school and left there until half term. If your child does not have a P.E kit, they will be unable to take part in P.E lessons that will occur on a Tuesday and Friday afternoon.

In order for your child to make the best progress possible in reading, it is vital that they read at home with an adult as often as possible. Reading diaries are checked and children win Dojo points as rewards if they have read consistently.

We do understand that homes are very busy and children attend clubs when not in school but ten minutes reading every night would be of great benefit to your child.

If you would like any advice or help about reading with your child please do not hesitate to ask.

Please can we remind you that toast and dinner money are to be given to the class teacher on a Monday in an envelope with your child’s name on it. If children bring in their own snack please ensure that it is a healthy choice and water bottles should be brought in to school daily.

If your child requires medication when in school (prescribed only) medication forms need to be completed at the school office – this includes the use of inhalers. Please make sure all inhalers are in date and have your child’s name clearly marked on them.

If you have any other queries please do not hesitate to ask us.

Kind regards,

Mrs Baynton and Mr Rivers
